Flies, mosquitoes, and other insects may sometimes seem trivial however they are worth taking seriously with insect screens. Flying and crawling pests often bite, and sting and they carry disease or worse. For example, the common house fly can land and easily spread dozens of pathogens that can infect humans and animals.
They have a habit of landing on decaying material including animal waste and then they try to visit you and your family in your home. Here they love to feed on human food, and land on plates and countertops, and all of this makes for the fast spreading of germs. In fact, flies are known to spread Tuberculosis, Cholera, Typhoid, Anthrax, and more. As you can see, it's important to keep them away and this is why window and door screens are important to the health and well-being of you and your family.
If flies do not bother you then consider the Mosquito, Bee, Wasp, and Cockroach. Each of these can also carry debilitating diseases. Examples are the Zika Virus, West Nile Virus, spreading of Salmonella and the stinging venom from Bees and Wasps can also be deadly. You do not want these critters in your home, they need to stay outside and away from you and your family!
Many people who don't currently have any insect screens may prefer to keep doors and windows shut. While there's nothing particularly wrong with this per se, it's far more healthy during the summer months to open up windows and doors to allow fresh (albeit warm air) to flow through. A fly screen allows you to do just this without having to be subjected to waves of insects.
Speaking of being healthy, when you have a good quality fly screen fitted you no longer have to spray endless cans of what can only be described as a pretty horrible insect repellent that has a tendency to stick in the back of your throat. Therefore from a health perspective, it's got to be good. Also in addition you'll be doing your bit for the environment too.
As well as keeping insects out a good screen can also protect you from the annoying glare of the sun that often streams through your window. Retractable fly screens are also great for enclosing outside spaces such as terraces and patios, and as such a retractable screen can be raised and lowered at the touch of a button or tug on a pulley. Therefore when there are no insects around and you want to enjoy some sun or to open up the space, then simply lift them up. If on the other hand you still want the feeling of being outside but without the annoyance of any mosquito or flies, or indeed the glare is getting all too much, then again one click or tug brings them down. This way you'll still have the feeling of being outdoors but without all the hassle that goes with it.
